Hi all,

I seem to have a problem with my 2000 A3 1.9 TDI once Ive locked the doors either with just the key or key fob. After about 20 seconds the hazard lights start flashing continuously!

Any advice to how to sort this would be most appreciated,

Kind regards, Nic

Is the alarm siren actually working?  It sounds as if you might have 2 problems - first, something's not registering that it's closed (bonnet switch is a common culprit) so the alarm's going off, but only the hazards are flashing because the siren doesn't work. Otherwise, it could be the relay in the alarm unit that's supposed to flash the hazards once or twice when the alarm's set, but I'd expect this to happen straight away rather than afetr 20 seconds.  20 seconds is the usual time for the alarm to set itself, whcih is why I thniks it's trying to go off.

Hope that helps

Tim
