Looking at a used fiat punto, got 69,000 on clock, R reg, new exhaust and looks in good nick. Only it makes a bit of a tappy sound on tick over which is quite noticeable.
Just wondering if this is pretty standard for a Fiat of this age or whether it could be signs of early problems?
Any input would be gratefully received.

| Hi I guess you have decided one way or the other by now, but tapping noises are not necessarily a problem on a high mileage engine, especially if it's only at idle and disappears as soon as you increase the revs to, say, 2000 or so. If it doesn't go when you rev it, avoid the car! Tim
