My son has put a new clutch and new slave cylinder in my R reg Audi A4.  He has bled the clutch and there is no air coming out but still the clutch isn't disengaging.  Can anyone help please.  My son is a fully qualified mechanic but this has got him really stumped.

Many thanks

Helen

I hate to state the obvious, since your son is a mechanic, but is he certain he's put the clutch plate in the right way round - that's the most common cause of a new clutch problem like that.  It sounds as if whatever the problem is, the clutch is going to have to come out again, so he might as well do it now and go over everything bit by bit to make sure it's fitted correctly.

Good luck!

Tim

i've had problems in past with bleeding hydraulic clutches. even though air seems to be out of system clutch still not working properly. the only assured way to bleed system was with a pressure bleeder.  hope this helps. peter
