My sons Accord has a recurring intermittent problem with the D4 light coming on, if he stops the car and restarts the light will go off and the car will drive normally again. A Honda dealer replaced the solenoid valve which was the fault identified when they plugged it in, but it didn't solve the problem. We took it to a transmission specialist who found a fault with a sensor in the throttle body, so replaced it, ok for a few days but the light has come on again and this time so has the engine management light. We'll take it to be looked at again but does anybody have an idea of what it could be ? For the record the car drives superbly smooth when the light is not illuminated and the transmission oil is clean with no grittiness.
