Did replacing it work?

RE: ford focus f

Hi

I think you've got most of this the wrong way round. The battery and oil lights come on and the power steering goes because the engine has stalled, not the other way round. However, if you're still moving whne the speedo packs up, that might be a clue. Mk1 Focus suffered from a fautly dashboard unit. After a lot of campaigning and a BBC Watchdog investigation, Ford agreed to replace any faulty units for a standard price of £99 at any Ford dealer. It's worth getting yours checked out as this could be the problem. If the dash is OK, it sounds like a general electrical problem - you need an autoelectrician to trace it - but check that dashboard first.

Hope that helps

Tim
